A well-established company in Germiston is looking for a Buyer / Junior Procurement Officer for a 3 month fixed term contract Position Overview Assist Senior Buyers / Procurement Officers with procurement and ordering of quality products at the best price to ensure customer satisfaction and sustainable growth for the company.
Requirements:
• Diploma in Purchasing, Procurement or a relevant qualification (advantageous)
• 3 years working experience within a procurement or buying environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Duties
• Receive requests from customers, ensuring proper understanding of their requirements
• Source suppliers and obtain multiple quotations from possible suppliers • Negotiate prices with approved suppliers to ensure procurement of products at the best price • Provide formal quotations to customers
• Follow up with clients and Senior Buyers on purchasing
• Place orders with approved suppliers, following prescribed procedure and complete Purchase Order
• Confirm orders with supplier to expedite delivery
• Hand the order over to logistics
• Keep client and Senior Buyer / Procurement Officer updated
• Manager stakeholder relationships as well as credibility
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, legislation and quality standards
