Job Description

Main purpose: Management of revenue and debtors’ book in line with policies, procedures, SOPS and all legislative requirements within the SIU.

Minimum qualification and experience:

  • B Degree or Diploma in Accounting (NQF 6/7).
  • Three years’ experience in revenue/debtors’ management and general financial and management accounting in a supervisory level.

Key performance areas (Include but not limited to):

  • Extensive knowledge of revenue and debt management.
  • Acknowledgement of Debt (AOD).
  • Supervision of sub-ordinates and reporting.

Technical skills:

  • Analytical.

  • Interpersonal.
  • Planning and organising.
  • Time management.
  • Attention to details.

Required knowledge and Behavioural (include but not limited to):

  • Knowledge of financial legislation and regulations governing the public sector (i.e PFMA, Treasury Regulations).
  • Knowledge of IFRS and GRAP statements.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems.
  • Intermediate MS Office proficiency.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Accuracy.
  • Deadline driven.
  • Integrity / Honesty.
  • Work under pressure.

  • Team Player.
