Job title: Junior Technical Consultant
Job location: Cape Town City Centre and Stellenbosch Employment type: Fixed Term Contract (12-months) Start date: As soon as possible

Graduate programme details:

As a graduate in our Food Science team, you will have the chance to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of food product development, quality assurance, and food safety. This 12-month contract graduate programme position will provide you with a valuable opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and contribute to our mission of providing a multidisciplinary, holistic and comprehensive customer-centric services with integrity to our clients so that they can deliver safe and authentic food to consumers.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical: Sample loading and verification of results. Requesting and checking of quotations. Assist departments with technical queries and ad hoc projects.
  • Administration: Sample handling and management in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Efficient and accurate data capturing. Monthly progress reporting. Receiving and processing of samples. Communication with shoppers and stores. Communication with courier services. At times there are additional ad hoc tasks that are required. Daily liaison between the client and the laboratories. Communication with technologists and technical assistants.

Experience / Education:

Must have completed a bachelor’s degree or tertiary education in food science (or similar).

License/Certification:

Driver’s License (Required)

Willingness to travel:

Once a week to Stellenbosch (Required)
